Israels policy for handling peaceful protests draws negative attention from EU

As Netanyahu and Abbas travel to the US for “peace talks”. The EU is criticizing Israels policy of arresting and sending peaceful activist to trial with criminal charges. Yitzhak Molcho flew to Washington this week to prepare for discussions. Israel has been under the magnifying since the Floatila incident where innocent, unarmed activists were attacked by Israeli troops.

The conviction of “illegal demonstrators” by Israeli officials has already been condemned by international human rights authority's. Israel is being accused by activists for engaging in a campaign targeting anti-wall activists. Previously Israeli officials had killed and wounded hundreds of protesters, now illegitimate laws are used to imprison peaceful activists.

The European Union's foreign policy chief has also weight in on this situation. Saying that the prosecution of Peaceful activists is an attempt by Israel to prevent Palestinians from perusing there legitimate right to protest the wall. The campaign against Israels separation wall has grown from symbolic into a full fledged movement. This years event has drawn international attention and the attendants of twenty three diplomats.
